The designer's intent

Welcome to Sycamore Creek

Designed around the land—and the golfer.

Friends John Richi and Robert Pratt set out to build one of Central Virginia's best golf values. The result is a public course with an unmistakable sense of place and a routing by renowned architect Michael Hurdzan.

Wide landing areas invite the tee shot, while offset angles, bunkers, wetlands, and undulating greens make position matter. Four sets of tees keep the challenge appropriate without taking the strategy out of the round.

The course

A different decision on every tee.

Five par 3s, ten par 4s, and three par 5s create an unusual par-70 rhythm. Natural movement in the ground and multiple lines of play keep the course interesting well beyond the first round.
